Are you looking for a unique activity to do with your family? Then look no further than my family zombie escape room game! This Halloween game for teens, tweens and adults, is such a fun family game everyone can participate in this fun activity. If you have kids younger than eight, they can absolutely join in the fun, but it’s probably not one for them to play independently without a game master lending a helping hand.
This game is easy and super affordable to set up. All you need is a printer and some paper. Download and print the game and follow the instructions to set up the escape room at home.
You can transform any room in your house into a fun zombie escape room; throw in some decorations and props to add to the atmosphere, and you have a recipe for an epic Halloween escape room.
Zombie Escape Room story
The game is designed to be a fun Halloween party activity. You’ll need to work together to complete the tasks and puzzles. The Halloween Game for Teens story revolves around a zombie horde heading towards the local school. A team of scientists are working hard to create a compound to save humanity.
One of the lead scientists has been bitten, and zombies are on the loose. You need to return power to the gates and keep the zombies out! Will Dr Pepper become a zombie, and will you survive long enough to save the world? So, do you have what it takes to find a way to escape before the zombies get you?
Solve puzzles and find the clues
The game includes a range of puzzles. You’ll need to use your problem-solving skills and work together to figure out each clue and puzzle to get closer to escaping the zombie horde!
What kind of puzzles are included?
You will find a variety of different puzzles included in the game. Some will involve sorting information, following directions, solving cyphers or assembling simple puzzles to lead to the answers.
Word search puzzle
This is a simple puzzle players must fill in the word search. To do so, they must first search for twelve eyeballs. Each eyeball has a different word written on it. I love this puzzle.
When I first created this puzzle, I actually decorated ping-pong balls ass eyeballs. Using a Sharpie pen, I wrote the words onto each eyeball. I then made a lot of spaghetti pasta and added some food colouring to make it look like brains. The players had to sift through the spaghetti to find each eyeball. This was a LOT of fun and a great addition to my zombie escape room game.
Name that zombie!
For this particular puzzle, the players will find photos of different zombies. Each one has a rather interesting name, but some of the information is missing. Players need to figure out what is missing. You can create a pin board with the zombie photos, and for a fun addition, add some of your own family photos to the board and give them creepy zombie names.
Simple jigsaw puzzle
The mobile phone message is a nice simple puzzle that is perfect if you have younger players in your family team. You can give them the task of finding and putting back together the phone. It will reveal a conversation that includes a clue.
The sequence puzzle is an ideal one to lock away half. Without the two pieces, you cannot solve the puzzle. I like adding puzzles into my games for players to figure out how to open the locked boxes. You don’t have to do this, but I love including them. In fact, I made a set of printables in the kit that will help you do this if you want. Plus some extra decorative posters and certificates to complement the game.
This game is a great way to spend Halloween with your family as an extra fun activity before heading out trick or treating. It’s also more affordable than going out to a physical escape room. You can be as creative as you like and go to town by setting the atmosphere with spooky decorations, fun zombie-themed food and atmospheric music.
Other Halloween Games
Here is a collection of other Halloween games. From treasure hunts, escape rooms and bingo. Something for everyone! A few years ago, I created a set of fun Halloween photo props that would be a great addition to this game.
This family zombie escape room game is perfect for Halloween parties, family game nights, or a fun night with friends. Plus, because it’s printable, you can print as many copies as you like and set up in multiple rooms to play simultaneously. Your printer will work overtime, though.
In conclusion, if you’re looking for a fun family-friendly zombie game that’s sure to thrill, look no further than this escape room. You can print it out on your home printer and set it up like a real escape room! With fun puzzles, creepy clues, and a handy printable lock kit, this zombie game will surely be a hit with teenagers, tweens and adults alike.
