Zombie Apocalypse Left Right Game

It’s a zombie party game, a spin on the classic pass the parcel. This zombie left right game is a fab addition to a zombie themed party. Simply read the poem and pass the gifts left and right or when the words are read in the story or to a person with a zombie tag when the word zombie is read. It’s a lot of fun.
I use left and right stories as gift exchange games for Christmas and white elephant parties, but I thought why not use them for a fun birthday party game. So I did! This game is a fun addition not only to a zombie themed party but for a Halloween get together too.
What is the Left Right Zombie Gift Game?
This left right Zombie apocalypse game is a simple way to give party favours to guests in a more entertaining way. This will probably turn into a new party tradition as it’s a lot of fun.
I’ve played Pass the Parcel at my kids’ parties many, many times, and they always love this game. It’s a classic, but I wanted to mix things up a bit and make a new fun game. The zombie party game is a fun new way to give out party favors to players while having fun at the same time.
How Do You Play The Zombie Game?
The game is essentially a pass-the-parcel game but without music. Instead, everyone sits in a circle, passing a small gift left or right when the word “left” or “right” is spoken in the story or passing the gift to the player opposite when the word “zombie” is spoken.
The zombie apocalypse themed story has been written with plenty of left, rights and zombie words included.
To start, have everyone sit in a large circle. Then, hand out wrapped gifts of different shapes and sizes. Or just have a few larger prizes for players to win. I like everyone to come away with something so at the end you can give out small favours to those who didn’t win the bigger prize. When everyone is sat down, you are ready to start reading the zombie story and passing the gifts.
Read the story slowly, emphasising the words left, right and zombie. I had everyone groan like a zombie when I read the word zombie. It’s absolutely hilarious.
Once you reach the end of the story, everyone gets to open the gift they have in their hands. I recommend one or two super duper prizes worth a few quid for this party game and the rest pocket money size gifts. Candy is always a winner!
I created the game as a fun way to give party favors, but you could absolutely use this is a gift exchange activity. In this instance, each guest should bring a gift to be exchanged. You’ll have to let everyone know the budget in advance so it’s a fair exchange.

Creating your own story can be a load of fun, especially as you can include elements in your story to make it personal to the group playing, but if you are doing some last-minute prep and don’t have time to come up with a fab story of your own you can just download mine!
What are the best gifts for a left right favor game?
Budget is a big thing, and parties can soon become super expensive, so I usually try to make my party favours. I will print out colouring pages and team up with funky pens and pencil packs from the local pound land. Then I will include three gifts that are a little bit more special. A pack of top trumps or uno cards, a fun mug filled with hot cocoa mix, Things like that. Something that can be used and won’t end up in the bin.
These fun brain stress balls would be a perfect zombie party favor. You’ll find a sheet of prize tags included in the kit, print off as many as you need for your game.

Hi, Lena, glad to have you here. The prize tags are just that, tags that you can attach to the gifts for the left-right game. You don’t need to use them. When I made the game for my family, I made these to match the printable. As I had already made them, I thought, why not include them in the download too!
