Get ready to decode some secret messages! Morse code, named after one of the inventors of the telegraph, Samuel Morse, is a fascinating form of communication. Instead of using words, you send messages using different sounds or signals. Imagine being a telegraph operator, encoding and tapping out Morse code alphabet messages using a special machine.

In Morse code, there are two types of sounds: dots and dashes they are called dits and dahs. Dots (dits) are quick and snappy, while dashes (dahs) have a longer pause in between. It’s like playing a musical rhythm with your words! Back in the day, telegraphs used electrical currents to send messages, but guess what? You can also send Morse code messages just by tapping or flashing a light!
