Make a Secret Message Classroom Gift

Valentine’s Day is the perfect time to spread a little joy and kindness around, and what better way to do it than with a fun and interactive classroom gift? This Secret Message Valentine’s Day Gift is a creative way for kids to share a little mystery with their classmates while also giving a small treat.

Whether you prefer a candy-based gift or a non-food option, this printable Classroom Valentine Gift printable kit has you covered!

Two Fun Printable Versions

Our Secret Message Valentine Kit comes in two different styles so that you can choose the best option for your child’s classroom. The poem on the postcard is written with a secret message in both versions, which is a nice interactive element:

Candy Version – Perfect for attaching to a small pack of sweets, this message reads: “Roses are red, violets are blue, candy is sweet… Here’s some for you!”

The secret code Classroom Valentine Gift is made up of cute Valentine’ s-related pictures. To read the message on the postcard, the recipient must use the Valentine’s Decoder wheel.

Non-Food Version – Great for pairing with a notepad, pen, or pencil, this message says: “Roses are red, violets are blue, you’re such fun… Here’s a gift just for you!”

This makes it an excellent option for schools with food restrictions or for kids who love stationery gifts! I love the non-food version, as the kids can use the decoder wheel to write secret messages to each other using their notebooks.

The secret code is super simple; each letter of the alphabet is represented by a number: a=1, b=2, c=3, etc. So it’s very easy to understand.

How It Works

The highlight of this Valentine’s gift is the Secret Message Postcard that comes with it. Kids will love decoding the hidden message, making it a fun and engaging surprise for their classmates.

How to Assemble Your Secret Message Gift

  1. Print the Designs – Use bright white cardstock or paper for the best quality.
  2. Assemble the Decoder Wheel – Cut out both wheels and place the smaller wheel on top of the larger wheel. You can secure them together using a split pin through the center or simply clipping them together with a paper clip.
  3. Write Your Child’s Name – Personalize it so classmates know who it’s from.
  4. Attach to the Gift – Secure the postcard and decoder to the candy, pen, or notepad using ribbon or a small gift bag.
