What’s Family Feud, Anyway?

Step-by-Step Instructions
- Print the Questions: Download or write your Christmas Family Feud questions and answers. You can get creative by including popular Christmas traditions, songs, movies, and treats as part of the answers.
- Assign a Host: Choose someone to act as the host. The host will read the questions, manage the game flow, and reveal the correct answers to players.
- Organize Teams: Split the group into two teams, ideally with equal numbers. Have each team select a game captain.
- Set Up the Buzzer: Set up a buzzer or noise-making object between the teams. The Players race to be the first to buzz in when they have an answer.
- Establish Rules: The host reads a question while a representative from each team faces off. Whoever buzzes first gets to answer. The highest-scoring answer decides which team gets to play or pass.
- Play Rounds: The team playing gets a chance to guess all the top answers from the survey. After three incorrect guesses, the opposing team can steal the round by correctly guessing one of the remaining answers.

How To Play Christmas Family Feud
Follow these steps for a festive and fun Christmas Family Feud game!
Pick Captains for Each Team. Each team selects a captain to lead them. Start the game with a “face-off” between the two captains. Both captains head to the front table (or buzzer area). The host reads a holiday-themed question, and the first captain to hit the buzzer has 5 seconds to guess the most popular answer—ideally, the top (#1) answer worth the most points.
Decide to Play or Pass. If the first captain guesses the #1 answer, their team chooses to play the round or pass it to the other team. However if the first captain doesn’t guess the #1 answer, the other captain gets 5 seconds to guess. Should they succeed in guessing the #1 answer, their team then decides to play or pass.
If neither captain guesses the #1 answer, the team with the highest-ranked answer from the board will choose whether to play or pass.
The Team’s Turn to Play. If a team decides to play, each member takes turns answering the question. Players have 5 seconds each to guess a remaining answer from the board. The goal is to uncover all the top answers listed. But remember, no repeating answers!

Avoid Strikes. Every incorrect answer earns the team a strike. If a team gets three strikes during their turn, they lose their chance to win the round. The other team then has one opportunity to steal.
Stealing the Round. If the opposing team gets the chance to steal, they must come up with one correct answer to win all the points for that round. If their guess is wrong, the original team keeps their points.
Move On to the Next Face-Off. After completing the round, the next players from each team step up for a new face-off. And the game continues. In the TV show, there is a quick-fire round. I have included a set of quick-fire questions to be played after each set of four main team feud questions in the printable. But When we have played family feud at home, we’ve never done the quick-fire round. We use those questions for more team games. So the choice is yours on how you continue playing.
