I love any opportunity to spend quality time with my family. I am one of five siblings, and we all have kids. And there are even grandkids now! There is a 20-plus year age gap between the eldest and youngest of us. Getting us all together in one place doesn’t happen very often. Christmas is that one time of year, though, when we try to get as many of us together as possible! This candy dice game is one of those games that gets everyone involved and can be played with a large group. 

Growing up in a large family, Christmas was more than just getting gifts. The best memories I have are not the presents I had but the fun I had playing games, watching movies and chatting. As an adult, I want to pass the traditions on to my kids, and the best way is to make each Christmas special. This is one of those games that the kids request all the time. Not only for Christmas but for Halloween and Easter, too!

Now, my Christmas Candy Dice Game isn’t just great for a family get-together but is the perfect activity for a classroom Christmas party, too! It’s so easy to play, and the kids love it! 

How to Play the Christmas Candy Dice Game

To play the Christmas Candy Dice Game, you will need a dice and a bowl filled with candy. The game is played with players taking turns rolling the dice and following the corresponding instructions.

Rolling a 1 or 2 means picking candy from the bowl, while rolling a 3 will mean you miss a turn and don’t get to pick or swap candy! Rolling a 4 means stealing a piece of candy from another player’s board, so watch out! Careful rolling a 5 requires giving one of your pieces to another player. If you’re lucky enough to roll a 6, you get to take two pieces of candy from another player’s board, putting you one step closer to victory!

What You Need To Play

• A Dice
• Candy, I like to use festive M&M’s or Hershey’s kisses. 
• A printed copy of the “Christmas Candy Dice Game.”

To set up the game, you will need a bowl filled with your candy of choice and my cute Christmas-themed game board for each player. The objective is to fill your board with 10 pieces of candy before anyone else does. You can’t beat how simple this game is to set up! 

I like to have a grand prize for the player who fills their board with ten pieces of candy first. But the best part of the game is that everyone is a winner. Whatever candy each player has on their board at the end of their game, they will get to eat!

Candy Dice Game Rules:

Each player starts with three pieces of candy and places them on their game board. Each player then takes turns rolling the dice. Depending on the number that comes up, they will either pick candy from the bowl, miss their turn, steal candy from another player or give a piece of their candy to someone else.

But the game isn’t just about rolling the dice – it’s about strategy. Will you pinch uncle bobs candy or your nans! Who will retaliate and given half the chance steal your candy! Will you be able to hoard your candy, hoping to fill your board first? Will you steal from the player with the least or most candy? The game is definitely a bit more tactical, especially if you are playing with adults. My word my family are super competetive and this game brings out that streak in everyone! Who will be the first to complete their board and declare victory?
