Easter Escape Room

OUTSIDE EASTER FUN

Depending on the weather, head on outside and set up your escape game up in your garden. Print out the game material. Pin the clues to fences, trees, hold down with rock or place clues inside these jumbo plastic eggs. Why not combine your escape room with an egg hunt, while searching for clue the kids will also find some of the jumbo eggs filled with easter.

This is a great way to get some vitamin D in the glorious sunshine. If only we could predict the weather, am I right!

IDEAS ON WHERE TO HIDE CLUES

Everyone can join in the fun; you will need someone to be the game master and set everything up, which will take about an hour if you add props and hide clues at different locations. There are lots of fun ways that you can hide the clues.

  • Place clues inside slime. Yep my kids love this! I use floristry crystals or JelLi Baff and have the kids fish out clue pieces. This works really well if you have a jigsaw puzzle type clue.
  • Pin clues behind a door, under a table or chair.
  • Tuck clues inside books
  • Place clues inside a picture frame
  • Lock clue inside a locked box bag or container. Here is a link to a blog post about some fun locks for your escape room

ADD A TIMER TO YOUR ESCAPE ROOM

My personal preference is just to the letmy kids play until they are solved all the puzzles. I do however set a timer so we can record the time the kids completed the escape room. A lot of brick and mortar escape room companies have an hours limit on a game, but thats just good business practice to get more people through the doors. This doesn’t have to apply to your DIY Easter escape room. It is fun however to have a timer running in the background. Head over to youtube to find one that matches your theme.

ESCAPE ROOM PROPS

Adding props to the room where you are planning to set up your game is a great way to make it feel more special. For an Easter themed escape room, think about adding some fake grass, colourful eggs and bright decorations. Don’t forget to add some music, it is an instant way to add atmosphere to your game.

WHAT’S IN MY EASTER ESCAPE ROOM!

When it comes to fun things to do over Easter, our escape rooms and treasure hunts are topping many peoples lists – and for a good reason too! The games are available instantly, and with a little preparation, you can really go to town and make an epic game. The puzzle-based games gives your kids the chance to step away from the computer for some screen free Easter fun.

As well as the main game material I have added plenty of extras. The puzzles in the kit are perfect for parents looking to create a memorable easter experience for their kids. This would a perfect way to reveal a stash of Easter treats or a special Easter gift.

  • A printable lock kit
  • Photobooth props for the end of the game
  • A selection of selfie posters
  • A certificate
  • Favor bag topper – a fun treat for the end of the game

The lock kit is particularly handy if you want to make the game more challenging for older children. Plus the extra lock printable can add even more puzzles into your game.
