• Simple maths problems. Each letter in the alphabet is represented by a number. When the maths problems are solved the corresponding number will reveal letters to spell a word.
• A polybius grid where pairs of numbers in three leaf clovers represent letters.

How to Set Up the Escape Room at Home

I’ve made this game super simple to set up, you can even just play it on a table top!

1. Download the printable files.
2. Print the game materials.
3. Place the clues around your home or classroom or simply place on a table top
4. Gather the players and explain the mission.

Within minutes, your house becomes a St Patrick’s Day puzzle adventure. You can even add extra fun by hiding the printed clues inside envelopes, locked boxes, or small treasure chests.

Tips to Make the Escape Room Even More Exciting

Try a few of these ideas to really make your game something special:

• Head over to YouTube and play a timer on a TV. It can add some additional excitement to the game. Personally, I don’t like to set a time limit but encourage players to complete in the fastest time they can!
• Before the start of the game have everyone choose their leprechaun name. It something silly but is a fun simple activity to do while people are arriving.
• Add small prizes for completing the mission.
• Decorate with St Patrick’s Day decorations
• Have a fun photobooth at the end.

No, all you need is some basic supplies. Paper, printer and something to write with. A QR code scanner is needed if you want to check the final answer online, but you can also use a real lock (this would be my prefered way to set up the final reveal).

Can I add real locks?
Absolutely. Infact I would encourage you to add as many different types of locks as you can think of. The kit can be used as a starting point and you can add extra clues and puzles to reveal the clue and activities in the game.
