Simple Chewy Double Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe

It’s nearly Valentine’s day and so I was looking for a super chocolate recipe to make at home for a little gift for the other half. We don’t usually do presents or cards so this is just a really good excuse for me to get my hands on some baked goodies without the guilt, lol.

In all honesty, I used to love baking but after a spell of making epic cakes for birthdays, I lost a little bit of that love. However, while browsing through Pinterest I saw a really nice looking chocolate cookie and that was it, I had to make them.

INGREDIENTS:

• 1/2 cup butter, softened
• 3/4 cup caster sugar
• 1 egg
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 1 cup all-purpose flour
• 1/3 cup cocoa powder
• 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
• 1/8 teaspoon salt
• 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

This will yield about 25 cookies.

METHOD:

• Step 1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
• Step 2. In a large bowl, beat butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla until light and fluffy. Combine the flour, cocoa, baking soda, and salt. Stir into the butter mixture until well blended. Mix in the chocolate chips. Drop a heaped teaspoonful of batter onto ungreased cookie sheets.
• Step 3. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven, or just until set. Cool slightly on the cookie sheets before transferring to wire racks and let them cool completely (if you can).

When you are done and the chocolate cookies have cooled they will still be ever so slightly gooey on the middle. You can then wrap these up in a cello bag, tie with with ribbon and slap on a gift tag. If I am giving handmade treats as gift I like to include a recipe card as well. This is a truly winning chocolate cookie recipe and you WILL have requests for it over and over again. Since I found the recipe online I have made a few batches already!
